Entro, mi accoglie in voice una simpatica bottina: “First time user? Click on the concierge for information“

L’avatar si sceglie fra alcuni tipi predefiniti, una dozzina, oppure si ‘disegna’, tra virgolette perchè da scegliere non c’è molto
Non si vola, ma si puo’ correre (shift) o saltare (barra spazio) e per usare la voce basta F12 o il tasto ’speak’
La cam ha solo due posizioni, vista normale (vedo il mio avatar e in prima persona) o ‘fuori di me’ ovvero in terza persona (ma non vedo il mio avatar) Si cambia visione col tasto V
Si incontrano ovunque bot maschili e femminili, con animazioni facciali, che spiegano alcune cose sul luogo in cui ci si trova

Per vedere il mio avatar c’è però il Tool ‘mirror’, altri Tool consentono espressioni facciali e altre opzioni…

La funzione apparentemente più ‘intrigante’, viste anche le prospettive di Second Life in rapporto a Facebook) è quella denominata ‘Social Network’
Vediamo cosa succede…
Mi si apre una finestra di Help:

“Since this is your first time here let’s review what the ProtoSphere Social Network does. This system allows you to tap into the incredible experience, knowledge and skills found within ProtoSphere. All you have to do is ask the system for help and you will quickly be connected to the documents or people that can help you answer a question or complete a task.

This help system is available to you throughout the Social Network software through a link at the bottom of the “My Network” pane on the left of the screen. Simply click on the link “Quick Reference” and you will see a help screen for the part of the system in which you are currently working.”

In pratica, il ‘Social Network’ sembra completamente interno al metaverso di ProtoSphere, come il profilo in Second Life…

Ma eccolo il ’social network’! Si chiama…. MSN xD

Naturalmente c’è anche un ufficio personalizzato, con uso di voce localizzato a quell’area, e numerose funzioni, tutte da scoprire…
